Überall wo die drei hinkommen wird ihnen erzählt was sie machen sollen, und in der Gefahr kommen helfer! Und überhaupt, der ganze auftrag ist nicht so n 'babyproblem'! Und dann auch, dass die Leute Lars helfen, sobald die magnusglocke ertönt, ist doch irgendwie ein schöner gedanke! So eine Bürgergemeinschaft! Aber da diese Story gerade so unglaublich erscheint ist sie gut! nicht zueltzt kommt noch dazu, dass lars die drei ??? nicht eine sekunde bezweifelt hat, und auch nicht seine leute, also die im wagen saßen etc. ...empfehlenswert

Ist Euch das auch schon mal aufgefallen? Und: Wurde der Fehler in den späteren Vinyl-Auflagen berichtigt? Fragen Fragen, nichts als Fragen...

The solution picked by the translator is actually an excellent one, although it might have been more accurate to place it in Minnesota. Still, the probability that Texas as a US state is more familiar to the young public than Minnesota might have been the reason why Texas was picked.

In a way it is rather funny that the translator (she is more than a translator in this book) did choose a hierarchic Swedish family living in Texas - then there are more things to discuss. But if she found it necessary to change from the country of Varania to a place in America she could have chosen Minnesota which is a place with many Swedish emigrants. Her solution - a hierarchic Swedish family in Texas - is more fantasy than Varania.

First your comment on Die silberne Spinne appeared as a pure piece of information about differences between the Original an German book. But then you ended up with the real reason why you are so upset by this changes: You're Swedish! You can't imagine how I laughed. But a short sentence to your hint concerning Texas: No one will move the place G.W. Bush come sfrom----!

It is true that many Swedes emigrated to America, but not to Texas. Why did the translator choose Texas which perhaps was the most unlikely place for a Swedish emigrant to go to? 2. I think it could have been possible to choose Varania also in Germany. Varania doesnīt exist, but the Three Investigators visited a small European country, and for security and diplomatic reasons they couldnīt tell the real name of the country, so they called it Varania. 3. The fantastic history of Varania which You can read about in the American original is replaced by a book and false Swedish history. I am very happy to have the German translation in my collection, but as a Swede I am a little bit confused.
